The Capitol Christmas Tree, Song and Ornaments
California is an inspiration to many artists, crafters, and musicians. This year, thousands of creative people will have the chance to have their creative work performed or placed on display for all of America to see. By participating in this year's Capitol Christmas Tree project, people are not only taking part in a proud tradition, they are showing all of America just why "California Shines!"

The Capitol Christmas Tree has been a proud American tradition since 1970. The very first tree was a live Douglas fir that was planted on the White House grounds in 1964, and decorated for Christmas. After the tree was lost to strong winds and root disease four years later, smaller trees were combined to make a suitably tall tree to grace the West Front lawn. In 1970, it was decided that, instead of using smaller trees to assemble a large one, every year's Christmas tree would be taken from one of the country's National Forests. Every year, a different state is chosen to provide the tree, with this year's tree coming from the great state of California. I found that this webpage demonstrated this well on this Judson Adie website.

It isn't just the tree that the state gets to send to Washington, D.C., however. Every year, ornaments to decorate that tree (as well as several others in offices all around the Capitol) are solicited from that state's artists, young and old. A child is also chosen to flip the switch that lights the tree, and a competition is held to find the artwork that represents that year's theme in a permanent gallery in Washington, D.C. Another competition is being held to find ten songs that represent this year's theme, "California Shines," to be placed on a CD that will be sold to fund this project. The final, official song will be performed at the tree cutting ceremony in Sonora, California, on November 5th, as well as during the tree lighting ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Last years winner, Wyoming songwriter Bryan Ragsdale, decided to craft an anthem for the 2010 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree, he chose not only to pen a western song, but also to enlist Wyoming schoolchildren to help produce an entire album to mark the historic occasion. "Cowboy Christmas Tree" served as the official song of the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree 2010 and we look forward to hearing this years tune played across the United State.

The cutting, decorating, and lighting of the Capitol Christmas Tree are a tradition spanning decades. With the tree ceremony, handcrafted ornaments, art competition, and song competition, all California residents will have the opportunity to tell the rest of the United States exactly what makes California shine.

Researching Your Family Tree, Where Do I Start?
Researching your family history is fun and the best place to start is... You! Putting together your family tree is a fairly simple process, however it is not always straightforward. Because, the information you need, can often come from a variety of sources. The good news is that compiling the information is actually quite simple to do.

The first level of you family history should be fairly easy, you should talk to as many of your older relatives as you can, makes sure you get the full names, middle names as well as maiden names, of them and their parents, grandparents as well as all the siblings they can remember.

Go back as many generations as you can and makes sure to write down any information you get, even if it seems very incomplete, these are the holes you will fill in later. Write down the names of spouses as well as children, including birth dates death dates and marriage dates etc. This level of research we will call word of mouth research or verbal research. It may seem irrelevant to record the names of your ancestors children, but these can be important clues to the past and can be used to verify that a person on one sheet or list is the same or different than the name on a different sheet or list from another source. I found that this website showed this intelligently on this Terry Sercovich page.

Also, accurately documenting children can help make connections with living relatives who are descendants from that common ancestor. Another source of information at this first level is photographs; these can be helpful in a variety of ways. Many times there will be a date and/or the location of the photo written somewhere on it, or maybe a clue can be found in the content of the photo. In short ANY info that you can find that has to do with someone you are related to or could possibly be related to should be saved or documented. You most likely will not know where that puzzle piece fits in until later on, just don't skip over it you might regret it later! Gather as many pieces as you can!

Another source that you have access to via the internet is social networking, such as Facebook, this can be a fantastic source, to connect with people that it would otherwise take you years to find. Not to mention all the expensive travel costs. Start by searching for you known relatives and "friend request" them, ask them to suggest their relatives, for you to connect with. You can start a "Family group" invite all Facebook members with the same last name, get to know them, you can look for common relatives. Just go to www.facebook.com/family/ you will be amazed at the results. You never know who you could meet. You may have a third cousin thousands of miles away who has been working on her family history and can give you many completed branches to your own family tree already! Keep an open mind, Stranger things have happened! Don't be put off by the modern or youthful air of Facebook and other social networks; they can be a wonderful tool that can help forge fantastic connections with your family!

5 Drills For Extreme Football Conditioning
In the dark ages of football, conditioning usually amounted to nothing more than running a few miles and maybe jogging up stadium steps. It was the old standby. And, often the only reason it was done was because that's what your coach did when he was young, and his coach before him. . . and on and on and on. . . it was the mediocre conditioning conundrum and it struck football like a plague.

If there's one thing that all football strength and conditioning coaches should agree on it's that running sucks for improving football conditioning.

Jogging is boring, results killing, and, if you are over 200lbs (and you all should be), it can be hell on your knees and ankles. We never run distance in a game, and usually not much more than 30yards and often only 3 - 10yards!

Yet, no matter what, some football players continue to rely on the dreaded and unproductive jogging as the mainstay of their football conditioning programs.

    Why?

I'm pretty sure it's because most coaches grew up when the aerobics craze hit. Jogging was the solution from everything from fat loss, heart health, sports conditioning to solving world peace.

But, just because you did something 25-years ago doesn't mean you should still do it! It used to be common practice to not allow your players to drink water during summer practices. It took a few tragic accidents before this stupid practice was put to rest.

How many times must we run around the practice field screaming "4th Quarter" before someone gets that in order to win the big games. . . the close games against good teams, we have to be in extreme football condition, or, as we like to say. . . game shape.

But, if you don't run how the hell do you get "in shape?"

If you play a sport, you should do conditioning that is similar to the demands of your sport, which is why Football players have absolutely no business running distance. Ever.

Sprinting, of course, is the usual answer. And, it should be. But, for most of the country, sprinting outside isn't always an option. Here in NJ it seems to either rain, snow or dump buckets of ice on us at the most random times. I can only imagine what the hell goes on in places where it really snows.

Sprinting in the snow may seem cool and hardcore, but, slip on one spot of ice and your season is done.

There are alternatives for those time. . .

But, a word of warning. . . it is not for the weak hearted.

Combining three exercises, often called Triple Threats, is not new. Early strongmen would often perform triples; typically a Two-Hands Anyhow, a Press, then a Side Press. Olympic lifters often use them and guys like Alwyn Cosgrove have applied complexes to fat loss training with phenomenal results. But, we aren't talking about just combining exercises in the gym. Using Triple Threats for extreme football conditioning is a great way to get into amazing football shape even when going outside is impossible. I found that this blog showed this well on this Alfredo Thundercloud web post.

    1. Prowler, Farmers Walk, Sprint

This movement is brutal. There's just no point where it lets up. Start off by setting up a Prowler (or sled) about 30-yards from a set of loaded Farmer's Walk bars. Very heavy dumbbells can be used if you don't have access to Farmer's bars.

Get down low and start pushing that Prowler. This should be a sprint, so don't overload the sled too much. As soon as you reach the bars, pick them up and do a Farmer's Walk back to the starting point. Then, drop the bars and sprint back to the prowler.

The last sprint might feel a little funny, especially on the later sets, but tough it out. Yell out "Fourth Quarter!" or whatever clich?? gets you to keep going when you just want to vomit.

Start with 3 sets of this combo, rest as needed. When you get good, try to cut the rest periods down to 45-seconds. Gradually. Trust me, go gradually. Five sets of this will be enough for most. You can use it as a stand-alone movement, as part of a conditioning day, or as a finisher after a weight room session.

You can do this in the gym if outside isn't a possibility. The Prowler wouldn't go over well with the school, but, you can get a tarp or even a heavy piece of rug, throw a few plates on top, attach a rope and pull. Instant indoor sled.

    2. Dumbbell Cleans, Dumbbell Front Squats, Dumbbell Duckwalk

This is a favorite of mine. It's super easy to set up, easy to do, and is excellent for conditioning and teaching your body to be coordinated when tired. By the way, this is important. I've heard for years that you shouldn't put high skill exercises toward the end of your strength sessions because you're too tired to perform the movement correctly. But, seriously, if you play football (or any sport really) you damn well better be able to perform high skill movements when tired. You better be as fresh in the 4th Quarter as you were in pre-game warm ups!

This trio is great for teaching the body to be on point even as you tire. Grab two dumbbells and knock off 5 rapid fire Cleans.

On the 5th, immediately do 5 explosive Front Squats. Then, on the 5th, keep the 'bells on your shoulders and go right into a Duckwalk. You can go for about 10 yards. But, speed of movement is more important.

    The keys here are:

Speed! You have to move fast

    25-Seconds rest between sets

Focus. . . you must learn to perform when tired

Go for 3 - 5 sets to begin with. This works great as a finisher, done at the end of a strength training session.

    3. Kettlebell Swing, Kettlebell Bear Crawl, Kettlebell Push ups

This trio can also be done with Dumbbells, but it's no where near as fun. It's best to do this combo outside, preferable in crappy weather (conditioning is as much about mental toughness as it is physical). Yea, yea. . . I just said don't sprint outside. . . there's not sprinting here, sucka.

Start off by doing 10 - 15 reps in the KB Swing. As soon as you finish, drop down and, with kettlebells in hand, start doing a Bear Crawl. Crawl about 30 yards. When you reach the finish line, keep your hands on the K-bells and do as many push-ups as possible.

Rest as needed at first, but eventually try to cut the rest down to under 45-seconds between sets.

Once you get used to this combo, try doing it with two different size K-bells. No one ever said the weights always have to be perfectly balanced. This will increase difficulty and keep your stabilizers working the entire time.

This complex can be used as a finisher on an upper body day or as part of a conditioning day. Start off with4 sets and work up to 6. Experiment with different Kettlebell weights, try using dumbbells, or wear a weighted vest throughout to increase the workload.

    4. Sandbag Bearhug Carry, Shoulder and Squat, Sandbag Deadlift

Again, best to head outside for this one, but, if you can't then the gym is perfectly fine. I've said it a million times; Sandbags are excellent for improving strength and football conditioning. . . and it's the #1 tool for bridging the gap between the weight room and the field.

You will have to play around a bit with the weight of the bag. If it's too heavy, you'll never make it. But, if it's too light, the exercise becomes too easy. Starting light and going heavier is the best way to go.

Start off with feet shoulder-width apart. Bend and grab the bag just as you would a barbell Deadlift. You will have to find the best form for you, but, a good way to start for beginners is to Deadlift the bag to the thighs, then do a high-pull/hip pop combo to get it to the chest. If you've ever watched World Strongest Man competitions, you've seen this move used when lifting the large, round stones. It'll take some practice to find your sweet spot, but, once you do, you'll have very little problem.

Once the bag is at chest level, wrap your arms around it and squeeze the hell out of the damn thing. If you relax your grip, the bag will fall, especially as you get tired. Once secured, start walking. When you get to the 50-yard marker drop the bag, repeat the lifting sequence but this time get it to your shoulder. Do 5 reps each side.

When you hit the 10th rep, drop the bag again and do as many Deadlifts as you can. This is quite a bit of work in a short time, so it is ideal when used as a finisher. Start with 3 sets and gradually increase to six.

    5. DB Swing, DB Snatch, DB OH Lunge

Again, if you are afraid of accidentally becoming a card carrying member of a Kettlebell Kult, you can use Dumbbells for this complex. This is best done with one 'Bell at a time.

Grab one Kettlebell or Dumbbell, take a shoulder width stance and knock off 20 Swings. Immediately do 20 Snatches then, keep your arm locked out overhead and do 10 Lunges with each leg.

This is ideal for those who are forced to workout inside or in a very small gym because it takes up so little space. You can do the swings and snatches without much fear of some dummy walking directly in the path of the dumbbell. . . though I once saw Roder drop the bar he was doing Straight Leg Deadlifts onto his foot, so I guess ya never know, eh?

This is also a great way to condition when you can't get to the school's weight room. . . like on Christmas break. All you need is one dumbbell and some balls.

Depending on your needs, choose 1 - 3 of the combos and work them hard 2 - 3 times a week. If you are early in your off-season, one day a week should hold you. As the season draws near, or if you are looking to lose fat for a specific occasion, start to increase the amount of conditioning you do. The old mainstay of doing 3 weight training workouts and 2 conditioning sessions is a good starting point.

Winchester, an Ancient Capital of England
England's ancient capital is steeped in history and culture. Settlement in the area dates back to long before the Romans. Overlooking the city from the western edge is a typical Iron Age hill fort. The Romans recorded the name of the city as Caergwinntguic or Caergwintwg which literally means 'White Fortress'. Later in Anglo-Saxon times this name changed to Wintanceastre.

In about 686 AD the city became the capital of the ancient kingdom of what as then the Kingdom of Wessex. Soon thereafter it also became the capital of England. It was not until the Norman Conquest of England that the capital moved to London. I found that this webpage showed this intelligently on this Mckinley Melis weblog

Following this, and during the reign of William the Conqueror, the Doomsday Book was put together in the city. Over the centuries that followed Winchester became an important centre for the south's wool trade.

But in 1141 a serious fire saw the decline of a once very prosperous city. To this day the curfew bell housed in the bell tower still strikes at eight o'clock every evening. This tradition comes from a time when at this time of the evening all home fires had to be extinguished until the following morning. The Bishop of Winchester was responsible for the restoration of Winchester from the early 1300s. And much of the restoration of the city immediately surrounding the cathedral was his doing.

Originally built in 1079, Winchester Cathedral is still the longest in Europe. But building continued from the eleventh through to the sixteenth century. More recently, the Cathedral was used for the filming of certain scenes for the popular film 'The Da Vinci Code'. The interior of the Cathedral is used for to represent a London church.

The famous English novelist Jane Austen died in the city on 18 July 1817. She is buried in the Cathedral. A few years later in 1819 the romantic poet John Keats stayed in Winchester for a few months, and it was here some of his well known poems were written.

Tips For Effective Boxing Training Workouts
Do you want to learn how to box? Boxing is not an easy sport to get into, unlike baseball or basketball because boxing is more of a physical sport. You can really get hurt inside the ring, even if it is just during practice. In fact, you will experience pain because it is the nature of the sport. That is why it is important for you to do the right boxing training workouts so you can be better prepared for it.

A boxing workout actually depends on the skill level, or even the age level, of the person who wants to learn the sport. If you are really serious about it, you should follow the standard three-minute rounds for 10 repetitions. That is on a daily workout basis. It actually depends on your level.

For instance, if you are just really starting out, then a minute of boxing round should your goal. Then you gradually move on to the two-minute up to the three-minute workouts. This way you are slowly but surely building up your skill, speed, and boxing skills. After all, you can only hurt yourself if you rush your boxing training and ignore the basics.

If you are in really good physical condition, your boxing training workouts should be divided into the following:

First three-minute boxing workout: Stretching and warming up through jogging. Do some shadow boxing as well.

Second, third and fourth three-minute boxing workouts: Actual boxing round, but focus more on building up your speed. Make sure that you get adequate rest after each round. I found that this blog described this really well on this Richelle Shryock blog post

Fifth three-minute boxing workout: By this time you should be able to figure out which are your strongest punches and therefore you should start working on your weaker punches.

Sixth three-minute boxing workout: Work on increasing your punching speed by practicing on the light punching bag. Not only can you build up your speed, you can also train your eyes to watch your fast punches.

Seventh three-minute boxing workout: It is your choice. You can continue working on the light punching bag or move up to the heavy punching bag.

After all of these seven workouts, do some more warm ups like jogging or work on the skip rope so you can slowly lower your body heat. Then head on to the shower to refresh yourself.

However, keep in mind that not only the physical side of it that is most important in any boxing workout routine. What you put into your body is equally important. For example, you should not eat a very heavy meal a couple of hours before you step into the ring, either for workout or a full boxing match.

And you should not drink coffee or drinks that have too much caffeine as it can affect your energy level (which can go quickly high then low again after the caffeine had worn out) and concentration. If you want a perk, go with a tea instead.

These are just some of the tips and suggestions that you should keep in mind for your boxing training workouts. Just follow these and keep on practicing and you will soon become a skilled boxer.

Thriller Live - A Celebration of Michael Jackson
Thriller Live is a concert celebration lasting 2 and a half hours and features the music of The Jackson 5 and the groundbreaking solo work of Michael Jackson. It has performed live in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia before opening at the Lyric Theatre in London on January 2, 2009. The show's concept was created by long time Jackson family friend and author, Adrian Grant.

Thriller Live previewed in the United Kingdom on August 2006 at the Dominion Theatre. Adrian Grant spoke of how and why he came up with the show's concept and the future prospect of taking it to the West End. Adrian Grant started the Jackson British fan club in 1988 and after Michael Jackson invited him to Los Angeles while he recorded his hit, Dangerous. The fan club quickly grew to over 25,000 subscribed members and led to an annual Michael Jackson tribute show from 1991. The 10th anniversary of the show was attended by Michael Jackson himself and a single tribute show attracted upwards of 3,000 people. Show creator Adrian Grant also wrote 3 books on the Jackson family including Michael Jackson- The Visual Documentary which was endorsed by the singer himself. Although Michael Jackson was never actually involved in Thriller Live, he was a fan of the show and wished Adrian Grant good luck with the production.

Thriller Live is still being shown in the United Kingdom at the Dominion Theatre. The Dominion Theatre was built in 1928 and designed by W. and T.R. Miburn out of a steel frame construction and a concave stone fa?ade. It was built as a theatre to show live performances but after business stalled in the early 1930's the theatre was converted to also show films. It was erected on the location of the former Horse and Shoe Brewery which was also the site for the 1814 London Beer Flood. I found that this weblog explained this simply on this Judson Gerathy article

The Dominion Theatre has a very large seating capacity holding as many as 2,858 in 1940 and thrived in its perfect location where the Charing Cross Road, Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Toad met, drawing in huge crowds for both its live performances and film showings.

In October of 1940, the cinema portion of the theatre briefly closed at the height of the Blitz but was quickly and permanently re-opened on January 12, 1941. After the war the theatre continued with its partnership with the New Victoria and almost always played with the Gaumont circuit programme for a pre-release week before it went to the Northwest London area to commence its suburban run.

The theatre continues to show quality performances and is currently still showing the Michael Jackson tribute show Thriller Live to sold out audiences, so get your Thriller Live tickets as soon as possible.

Thursday Night NFL Report (Aug. 17)
The second week of the NFL preseason kicks off tonight as teams begin to play their starting units longer. Below is a look at both games on the pro football card for Thursday night, including the national television matchup on FOX.

    KANSAS CITY at N.Y. GIANTS (-3½, 35) - 8:00 pm ET (FOX)

The Giants are coming off an emotional win last week at Baltimore as they went 16 plays and 62 yards in the final 5:40 of the game and kicked a winning field goal as time expired for a 17-16 win. Kansas City lost 24-14 at Houston as the Chiefs were without their second and third string quarterbacks as Damon Huard and Brodie Croyle both missed the game due to injuries.

Starting quarterback Trent Green looked strong and was 5-for-6 and led the Chiefs on an early touchdown drive, but backup Casey Printers was awful with a 33.7 QB rating over the final 3½ quarters of the game. Printers received no protection from the Chiefs offensive line as he was sacked five times.

The Chiefs might get QB Damon Huard back tonight, but QB Brodie Croyle is once again out. The starters are expected to play into the second quarter this evening.

The Giants are also planning on playing their starters for 1½ quarters. QB Eli Manning will start the game and be relieved by Rob Johnson who will make his first appearance of the season since returning from Tommy John surgery. Tim Hasselbeck is not expected to play tonight which means QB Jared Lorenzen will finish the game. I found that this blogger showed this intelligently on this Houston Dituri weblog

    PHILADELPHIA at BALTIMORE (-3-125, 34) - 8:00 pm ET

This is the Eagles' third preseason game and they plan on playing their starting offense and defense the entire first half tonight. The Eagles have looked pretty strong in their first two preseason games as QB Donavan McNabb was a combined 10-for-12 passing with 106.9 and 102.8 QB ratings in each game.

Second-string quarterback Jeff Garcia will not play tonight, however veteran backup Koy Detmer will play the third quarter and then the NCAA's all-time passing leader Timmy Chang will finish the game.

Despite playing the entire fourth quarter last week, Chang only threw one pass as the Eagles were milking a 20-0 lead in their eventual 20-7 win over Cleveland. Chang received more work in the first game versus Oakland when he went 9-for-17 for 84 yards with a weak 42.3 QB rating.

Baltimore's first-team offense looked strong last week as newly acquired quarterback Steve McNair was 4-for-5 and led the team to a touchdown drive in his first and only series of the game. Look for McNair to play a little longer tonight and then be replaced by last year's starter, QB Kyle Boller and Brian St. Pierre.

Third-string quarterback St. Pierre was on the Raven's practice squad last year, so both backup quarterbacks Boller and St. Pierre are familiar and comfortable in the Raven's system.

How to Lose 10 Pounds in a Week - Easily and Naturally
If you want to lose 10 pounds in a single week, you need to burn 3500 to 4000 calories per day. You can do this by modifying your diet and activity level. You can achieve this target by following a 1000 or 800 calorie diet. But this diet plan is not recommended for extended period of time. There are many crash diets that promise you to lose weight within short span of time. But unfortunately many are unhealthy and can spoil your health.

You need to rip off weight in a right way. Losing weight requires slight change in diet, you need to cut out few foods or need to eat them moderately. You may also need to incorporate exercise in your day to day life. Once you start experiencing weight loss, you will get motivated and follow the steps without any pain. Please do stay away from crash diet plans or any other unhealthy eating habits.

Don't go for any Fad diets as they are not permanent. "Eat less and Exercise more" should be your motto to achieve this goal. Be realistic with this goal and follow the motto firmly.

    Do not starve

No Fasting or Starving is allowed when you want to lose weight. Starving will tempt you to eat more and you will end up in eating unhealthy foods to quench your hunger. Starving will make you unhealthy and weak. When you skip your breakfast, your body keeps more space for the next meal and your body metabolism also slows down. By starving, if you lose 20 pounds, you may gain 25 pounds back. This is the reality.

    Drink plenty of water

It is recommended to drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. You can try drinking water before having food. You will feel full and may eat less. Also when you feel hungry, most often it is due to thirst. Drink only plain water to stop hunger, do not drink coffee or other beverages. Also, do not get confused that hunger is always thirst.

Drinking lot of water helps to regularize appetite, drains out the toxins, and keeps the system clean by increasing metabolic rate. Keep in mind that you need to lose at least 3500 calories per day to lose 10 pounds in a week!

    Eat less Calories

If you want to lose 10 pounds in a week, eat fewer calories than what you actually burn. You can easily burn more calories by increasing your activity levels and cutting down calories in daily diet plan. You can plan to cut down 400 to 500 calories per day and practise exercise every day to lose weight quickly. Eat highly nutritious food and cut down all the unhealthy foods.

    Diet with essential nutrients

Eat foods rich in fiber - this will activate rapid weight loss. Foods like grape fruit, orange, lemon, watermelon, apple, vegetables like carrot, cabbage, broccoli, celery are all rich in Vitamin C and act as Fat burners. Oatmeal, skimmed milk, whole grains, fiber enriched cereals, raw vegetables, whole wheat pasta etc are also considered as foods that burn fat. You can have Oats, wheat or corn flakes low in sugar etc for breakfast rather than skipping it. Low fat yogurt also helps in weight loss as it is rich in calcium. Eat Soy products, Fish, shellfish, egg whites, non fat dairy products, etc to ensure rapid weight loss. Eat salads with tomato, carrot, beet root, capsicum, cabbage, cucumber and lettuce. Protein rich foods help maintain blood sugar levels and stimulate weight loss.

You need to eat at least 1000 calories per day when you are on diet. Make it up the required calorie level by eating smaller and frequent meals. Do not eat at a time. Eat equal portions every time and have a light dinner. When the day is over, you may not need too much energy. End each day with light supper and enjoy your sleep.

Eat only as much as you want and do not eat too much. Over eating is dangerous.

    Avoid Sugary foods

Drop sugar from your diet and see the difference. It helps you lose weight quickly. Cut down your salt intake as well. Too much of salt and sugar makes you gain weight. Avoid taking carbonated beverages, corn syrup, cakes, cookies, chocolates, pastries etc. Replace coffee and other beverages with water or fat burner like Green tea, Herbal tea or juices.

    Avoid Unhealthy snacks

Do not consume unhealthy snacks like potato chips, cookies, candy, popcorn, cakes etc. Stay away from fried foods as well. You get addicted to these items and keep eating more and more. Stop eating these tempting foods when you are watching TV or movies. Instead you can try eating Snacks like soups, salads, fruits, water-rich foods. They are good source of nutrition and avail weight loss quickly. Include more fiber rich food, fruits, vegetables and other organic products in your diet. Low fat dairy items are also good for weight loss. Reduce carbohydrate intake, this will help you shed unwanted pounds drastically. There are many tasty and nutritious alternatives available without carbohydrates. Try these healthy snacks to lose 10 pounds fast!!

Do not eat processed or packaged foods as they don't contain essential minerals and nutrients. They are higher in sodium and fat content. Go for fresh foods and avoid packaged foods. Researchers predict that people put on more weight when they eat out while their body weight is under control when they eat home cooked food. I found that this website showed this intelligently on this Chet Yeldon article

    Shed pounds fast by Exercise

Run, Walk, Jog, Swim, lift etc to lose weight fast but do not overexert. Include Exercise in your busy schedule. There are many simple ways to burn calories. You can burn extra fat by walking, taking the stairs, dancing, standing, aerobic exercise etc. Practise regular work out routines and track the activity levels in a diary. Be committed, stay positive and remain consistent in your daily work outs.

Many people don't have time for exercise and go for fad diets. They are all temporary and may damage your health.

    Dine In Another Country Tonight!
So you may not be able to afford a trip around the world but you can certainly bring the flavor of other countries into your home. The whole family can get involved in shopping, preparing and cooking dinners from around the world. I found that this webpage described this smartly on this Katherin Schelle web page.

Always wanted to go to France but can't afford it? Bring it into your home by setting up a little bistro in your house. Wish you could visit Mexico but it is just not in your future? Get the whole family involved in a Mexican fiesta. Love Italy but the cost to go there is not happening? An Italian night is one of the most affordable you can enjoy.

The key to celebrating another culture is to try to make it authentic. If you have children they can learn a lot and will enjoy the evening more if they research the culture and find simple things you can do to make the night more fun. They will be able to find recipes and other dishes that lend the flair to the evening.

Many supermarkets have a wide variety of foods from around the world, so you can stock up on things to eat and at an affordable price. You will also find some food items you may never had heard of, so this is a great time to try new things.

Setting the tone for the mood can be as simply as turning on some music that is typical of that country. Or finding a radio station that has that type of music. Then add some festive touches depending on what country you are visiting. You can add candles, colorful napkins, items from those areas, what ever suits your fancy.

A fun evening out is no fun if you have to spend most of your night in the kitchen cooking and cleaning so try to use tools that will make the job much easier and clean up a breeze. Some of the newer things on the market can take a lot of the work out of cooking and cleaning.

Having a night in another country can be a great learning experience for everyone in the family and it is a fun thing to do. So even if you can't afford to go to the country, bringing a little bit of it home with you will help make for a fun evening, a great learning opportunity for everyone and a chance to appreciate another culture!

Telepresence Robots Light Up the Consumer Electronics Show
A host of innovative robotic products were showcased at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this year in Las Vegas. CES 2011 brought together over 140,000 industry professionals who were able to see the very latest technological products from the 2,700 companies exhibiting at the event. Among the most popular highlights from this year's event, were the new telepresence robot's by VGo, Anybots and iRobot.

VGo gives you a virtual presence with the ability to move around freely in a distant location without actually being there. The experience is commonly described as having "your own avatar in a remote location." VGo's telepresence robot allows you to go beyond the boundaries of traditional video conferencing technology and actually be there in a physical sense! At a reported cost of around $6,000 it appears to be the most affordable solution on the market, although customers also have to take out an extra yearly service contract at $1,200. I found that this site explained this well on this Benton Smetana web post.

Silicon Valley start-up company Anybots, have just released their telepresence QB robot, featuring a webcam that shows the controller's face, meaning you can have a virtual presence even though you could be miles away. The QB robot, aimed at the business world, officially went on sale at the start of February this year, at a cost of $15,000. The QB is hailed as the first professional-quality telepresence robot to allow executives to work remotely through a simple interface.

iRobot, best known as being the maker of the Roomba and Scooba lines of cleaning robots, have developed a working prototype that uses sensors similar to those used on Microsoft's Kinect, for seemless navigation. It moves using wheels and can be controlled using an iPad mounted on its adjustable head. AVA, short for "avatar," has two PrimeSense sensors as well as microphones, speakers, laser rangefinders, and bump sensors for obstacles which suit the robot's primary purpose: video telepresence. Although in a development phase, what industry experts are most excited about is the fact that iRobot AVA has an apps platform, allowing developers to incorporate new functionality into the interface. iRobot stress that this product is very much still a prototype and there's no word on a launch date or price just yet.

So, the world of telepresence and video communications continues to develop at ground-breaking speed. No longer will CEO's have to make surprise visits to some of their under-performing locations. They can see, interact and find out what's going on without ever having to leave the office! It all sounds to good to be true and it's still too early to tell if telepresence robots will revolutionise the way we communicate and whether these companies can really create a market for the telepresence robot.

Whether you're a skeptic or not, telepresence robots are here, and the presence of VGo, Anybots and iRobot at CES 2011 signals the start of the next generation of telepresence solutions, where our avatar robots will 'virtually' transport us all over the world!

How to Get Faster for Football: The Best 5 Exercises for Football Speed
To get faster for football and increase agility on the football field, you need to be very careful about which exercises you choose to use to get quicker. The wrong exercises will not only NOT make you faster, but can actually make you slower! There are literally thousands of exercises out there...how do you know which to use to get faster?

Magazines, web sites and self-proclaimed experts are constantly throwing new, odd-exercises at you, claiming they'll help you get faster for football! But, the truth is, the basics are what give you the biggest speed increases on the football field. We are after football speed, not simply track speed or improving our testing numbers!

Remember, you only have so much time to train so we can't waste it on exercises that don't produce results! Here are the top 5. Use these and you'll get faster in record time!

    1. Box squats to Get Faster for Football

Box squats are king of the football speed training hill. If you want to truly get faster for football, do box squats. A lot. They build raw strength in the glutes and hips and dynamic strength in the glutes and hamstrings. This is especially important for football where the game starts from a dead stop and can often be played in a stop-and-start fashion. Think of how a running back sprints to the hole, gets to the second level, stops, makes a move, and explodes again. This is the kind of explosive speed box squats build. And you can also use box squats as a dynamic effort movement, thus improving your rate of force development (maybe the most overlooked aspect of football speed training). Honestly, if you want to get faster for football but neglect developing your RFD, you are wasting your time!

    2. Conventional deadlifts

Deadlifts are the most underutilized speed exercise in the entire football training world. All this bull about hurting your back has scared generations of players and coaches from using what just might be the greatest overall strength and speed builder of all time! As far as the injury factor goes, there are probably many more injuries each year caused by overtraining on the bench than there are from deadlifting. If you deadlift in good form, you're fine.

Why conventional deadlifts and not sumo? Sumo deadlifts are great as well, but if you have to choose between the two, go with conventional because of the extra stress placed on the hamstrings. Once you learn to really sit back, pull, and engage your hamstrings, you'll see your speed increase so much people will think you're on something! Increasing hamstring and glute strength is the fastest way to get faster for football.

Stick with heavy, low rep sets. Again, this sounds dangerous to some, but the reality is that higher reps tend to equal more injuries than low reps. If you're really afraid to go super heavy, work up to multiple sets of doubles and triples.

    3. Snatch grip deadlifts

Talk about underused exercises...the snatch grip deadlift is a bonafide "get faster for football" all-star movement. Because of the wide grip, the body is forced into a much lower position, which makes the hamstrings, glutes and hips work harder. Harder is good when it comes to getting stronger and faster. This is also a great indicator exercise. Typically, as the snatch deadlift goes up, so do all other leg movements. I found that this web page described this amazingly on this Delora Romriell web page.

The key here is to start with the hips lower than normal (this will happen naturally) and actively "sit back" when you pull, keeping the back flat. We need to turn this from the traditional Olympic lifting movement into more of a powerlifting deadlift, keeping the shoulders behind the bar and the body sitting back. Again, go for low rep sets. This can easily be used as a max effort movement, especially on a day when you don't feel up to hitting a super heavy squat or deadlift. While you still go heavy on the snatch deadlift, it's still lighter than those exercises.

    4. Bottoms up squats

Starting speed is almost never addressed by most football strength and speed programs...at least not consciously. Most programs base their leg work around normal squats and cleans. But real world starting strength (better known as explosiveness) is rarely covered.

Football is a game based on starting strength. If you can't turn it all on quickly, the rest of your speed is wasted. Trust me. I personally went through this early in my career. When I fixed it, my game changed completely.

Jumping, firing off the line, starting a pass route, and jumping a pass route for a defensive back are all based on your ability to fire all the muscle fibers in a hurry. One of the best ways to do this is with bottoms up squats and front squats. Basically, this is setting the bar on the pins in the rack at various heights, usually the bottom, mid-point, or in a quarter squat position. Then you wedge yourself underneath, get tight, and explode.

Now 'explode' is the appropriate term. If you don't move your butt quickly, the bar just won't move. You quickly learn what kind of leg power you have when doing these. And once you get good at them, you can add bands or chains to make sure you're exploding through the entire range of motion.

It's best to stick with Singles and Doubles on these. Especially with Front Squats (it tends to be a trickier set up). Once you are moving some good weight, experiment with chains or bands added to the bar. Rotate these in about once a month. If you also do Deadlifts and SnDL's as your ME movements, this is plenty.

    5. Kettlebell swings

Swings, when done correctly, can do more for your closing speed than any other exercise other than box squats. The problem is most people do them incorrectly. They do them in the housewife fat loss style, turning it into a semi-squat movement.

You need to allow the kettlebell (or dumbbell or small sandbag) to swing back and between the legs. Then tighten the abs and contract the hell out of your hamstrings, forcing the bell to snap forward. It's all about the reversal of motion here. Then the hips and quads fire a bit. That snap is responsible for your hamstrings being able to turn on in an instant and have you closing in on the ball or ball carrier. They build real world football speed.

The swing is an accessory exercise. Go with multiple sets of low to medium reps. Don't be afraid to use some real weight and go with sets of four. These do best following a heavy movement like deadlifts.

-Do these exercises and you'll be amazed how rapidly you can get faster on the football field!

The Hot Vampire Romance Books Trend
Vampires and vampire romance books seem to be a hot trend in the marketplace today. Since the original Dracula movies, vampires as monsters have been popular, but never as much as in today's world. Books like Twilight seem to have re-instilled the interest in the vampire world as a whole. Not only did Twilight bring about a new era for vampire lovers, with monsters and horror included, but Twilight also introduced romance into that bizarre world. As a result, not only the teens, to whom to book was geared, but many other readers of all ages became entranced with the possibility of vampires as the good guys, and as lovers.

The Twilight saga books, written by Stephenie Meyer, were well written which also brought in a lot of readers. Meyer's writing skills and creativity made the whole idea of vampire lovers believable. The intensity of her characters made people believe that a deeper love was possible with a vampire than could be achieved in an ordinary human-to-human relationship. As a result, women who may have been love-starved in the past seek out this type of vampire romance novel as a means to fulfilling their own love lives.

Other books in the vampire romance genre have also introduced vampire-human love affairs that appeal to many of today's readers. Charlene Harris of True Blood fame is also known for her vampire romance novels. Her character of Sookie Stackhouse has become very well known not only from her vampire books, but also from the T.V. series they inspired. I found that this weblog demonstrated this smartly on this Jamee Perotta post.

Another great vampire series, in books and on T.V., were written by L. J. Smith-The Vampire Diaries. The books were also intended for a teen audience, but also appeal to other age groups today. The Vampire Diaries is another example of a vampire-human relationship that seems more intense than regular romance books can achieve.

Part of the reason that vampire romance books are hot today is that every woman can identify with the intensity of the love relationship. It is what every woman wants in their own love situation, but few have actually achieved it. Also the hero is made to be super-human, with extraordinary powers and skills that few women can resist. The vampire hero is portrayed as the most handsome, the strongest, the most intense lover and one who will fight to the death for their heroine. Because of this women can fantasize about the lover portrayed in the book without guilt, because such a person could not possibly exist in real life. The stories take place in a fantasy world where it is safe to dream.

In most of the vampire romance books, the heroine (especially in the Twilight series) is also just a commonplace, everyday girl-just like most readers. It can be gratifying to know that even regular girls can have a chance at a fantastic romance that may not be achievable to them in the real world.

As long as authors strive to create fantastic super-heroes in their vampire characters, there will be a market for their vampire romance books. Readers young and old will want to fantasize about their own vampire lovers where they can aspire to an intense love relationship, without having to actually believe that it will ever really happen. Vampire romance books will be popular on the reader's marketplace for a long time.

Introduction: Vampires and vampire romance books have been a hot trend in the reader marketplace for a while now. Books like Twilight and The Vampire Diaries have attracted a loyal readership that extends beyond the simple horror aspect of vampires, but into the romance world of the vampire-human relationship.

    Dad, Endear Your Children
A Dad's heart can be a multiplicity of concerns, purposes and responsibilities. These multiplicities can and should be managed or they can get in each other's way. Wow, that's abstract. Let me explain further, everything a dad does will either detract or add to the progress in any and or all of his goals. Care must be taken that only purpose adding actions are taken in every area of the complex maze that a dad gets to live in. If not, then energy and emotions that belong to one purpose could be wasted or spent on another. What we are going to talk about here is some tips about doing little things to endear and encourage your kids.

The necessity of Encouragement: Children will encounter enough disappointment, discouragement and set back, to keep them humble. What they need is a loving dad to encourage them, delivering the endearing knowledge that somebody believes in them and their abilities. Dad, this is your Job, and one that can yield rewards long after your departure into the hereafter.

When God, trusts you with the eternal life of a new child, he placed a great opportunity before you. First, he provided an opportunity to live for something other than you and grow thereby in your manhood, spirit and self control. Living for yourself will eventually leave you in the suicidal and depressing land of "So What". Men need to live for something bigger then themselves, if not then your motivation will drop and your spirit will start to die a slow death.

Second, God will view the great deeds done by your children as your work in part. This is because you and your wife are the ones who gave the children the principles, discipline and self control they needed to do great and notable things. This is a big topic and I could write a book, but for now let's move on.

The Power of the hug; this is a powerful tool and one used regularly by those who understand "emotional Intelligence". When you hug a child you give them the idea that everything is going to be alright. When you hug a child you build a sense of security and faith that they need now and will linger on into their adult life. Think about it, what if you had grown up with the belief that you could achieve anything you set your heart on. What would you do if you knew that you could not fail? The hug can help instill confidence they will need to overcome great obstacles, and in the overcoming of the same they will build a great character needed to go on to do great things.

If your child loves animals you like them too. If your little girl loves small animals then you need to learn to enjoy small animals. My little girl brought a Chicken in the house the other day. I didn't panic and or foam at the mouth. I don't really want chickens in the house however; I don't want to damage my little girls enthusiasm either. She will need that enthusiasm and love for things small and cute later in life. What I did when she came in all excited wanting me to see her chicken is this, I asked her to bring the chicken to me. While she held the chicken I stroked it kindly on the back of the neck. As I did so I could see my daughter nervousness about my reaction change to love and joy and confidence. We talked about how funny chickens and animals can be. After Five minutes or so I quietly added "alright, we better take her back outside". My daughter smiled and said OK daddy. We grew a bit closer because of that incident. I tried to use animals as an activity that we enjoy together. Love the good and right things that they love even if you don't really like them at all. Don't let the prince of the air use your [don't likes] against your family.

Take part in School activities: this is about the projects that your kids come home with. Keep up with what is going on in their lives and make them feel that when they need help they can come to you. Help them with their project without doing it for them. Use these events to get them talking. If they don't feel free to talk to you and your spouse then where are they going to turn when the troubles of live start to stand in their way?

When they show Enthusiasm for a good and right thing, you show Enthusiasm: when the child comes home all happy and enthusiastic about something, let them play it out to you. Listen carefully with enthusiasm, let yourself enjoy their enthusiasm. Listen close enough to ask questions. Who else do you want them to share enthusiasm with If not you? People of all ages need someone to share the adventures of life, having a good and proper relationship in which you can share your enthusiasm on any subject is critical to an individual's mental health. This is especially true with kids.

When you comin home dad? A good friend of mine tells a story, he would come home after working two jobs, sit on the couch and try to relax watching a few moments of television. His son would try to stay awake so that he could see his dad for a few moments.

His boy, said "Dad, look at this cool truck". That's nice son, and Dad would go back to watching television. The boy tried to get his attention several times but with no success. Then the lad took hold of Dads cheeks and said "Dad Play with me!" This message was received.

Suddenly a divine knowledge of the importance of the situation entered into his heart, his son had been looking forward to his daddies return all day and now dad's home and they can see each other for about 30 minutes and dad wants to watch television instead.

Tears welled up in dad's eyes and the television was put off. And he discovered

that he did have the energy after all to play with his son.

    It is written:

"Pro 13:12 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life."

Some parents don't care if their children are disappointed over and over again, as if their hearts just don't matter. There are times when it is bad for their character to give them what they want too often. Yet to do the opposite and never give them what they want can be just as bad. Parents need to find a balance, the balance can be found in the pursuit of the Almighty and a lifelong search for plain wisdom. I found that this weblog showed this incredibly on this Elba Tashima web site.

Communicate and or teach Principles: children who grow up with the confidence to conquer the world and never received a set of guiding principles to live by, will usually justify any malicious act against others to get what they want. Confidence must be governed and guided by a set of principles. You can instill principles by reading the Bible to the kids, going to church and living right in the sight of your children. Let us put it in other words, progress in this area will also be made when your kids see you making a sincere effort to live by the principles you want them to live by. What principles? You can probably come up with a list yourself; however, I will mention a few of the most important. First, the honoring and respecting of God, Parents and authorities, these are the ones who will help the youth when the time comes to make mega decisions.

This first principle also activates the promise of a long life. Second, the confidence building art of keeping your word all the time, coupled with the art of thinking about what you say before you say it. Third, the joy of telling the truth coupled with the masculine art of knowing what not to say. Not having sex until you are married. This is a controversial one, but most marriage breakups can be traced to the mistrust generated by having sex before marriage. I will answer questions about this if you will go my site (contact page) and leave a message, I will contact you by email. I want you to be well, joyful and live without reason for regret. Thank You, Robert Tafolla. "All Rights Reserved" ? http://emotionalintelligencebooks.com

    Cheap Boat Insurance
One of the absolute pleasures that an individual can attain is by possessing his own boat. Cheap boat insurance reflects that the cost of boat insurance is relatively low, but at the same time it grants substantial damage coverage against any mishaps which might damage the boat. I found that this page explained this really well on this Ignacio Brugh post.

This coverage is extensive, and offers coverage for the boat, its equipment and supplementary gear, outboard motors, boat trailer and individual assets. A cheap boat insurance policy offers physical destruction coverage on an actual cash value or an agreed amount value foundation. Together, boat insurance policies tender vital coverage for the boat, but there are major disparities.

Actual cash value policies finance replacement costs, minus depreciation at the point of the loss. In the event of total damage, second-hand boat pricing directions and additional funds are used to decide the estimated market rate of the boat. Partial damage costs are calculated by getting the entire charges of the restoration, minus the deductible.

Agreed amount value policies mean that the owner of the boat and the insurance company have decided on the cost of the boat, and in the aftermath of a total loss the owner will be compensated with that amount.

Agreed amount value policies also replace old objects with new ones, exclusive of any assumption for depreciation. The majority of agreed amount value policies necessitate actual cash value on specific destroyed assets like sails, protective covers, batteries, dinghies, trailers and aged outboard motors, lower drive units or outdrives.

Cheap boat insurance is an affordable way to shield an asset that might have cost a person his life's saving.

    Top Ten Safest Holiday Destinations
Holidays are for relaxing, not for worrying! Who wants to worry about their safety when they're trying to de-stress? Unfortunately it's often easier to figure out which places tourists should avoid, than which countries will welcome them with open arms. However, Forbes Traveller has recently chosen the top ten holiday destinations, based on various studies. The choices are based on criteria such as the UN Crime Study and the results from this year's Mercer Rankings Study, as well as warnings from the US Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Some choices, such as Switzerland, peaceful New Zealand or glittering Singapore were to be expected, but there are some surprises in store...

ABC-Islands (Caribbean) The ABC of safety are the southern Caribbean islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. The reasons? For hurricanes, they are too far south, they have low crime rates and a multicultural tourist-friendly population.

Dubai Artificial, but safe! Although Dubai is currently suffering from the recession, the country remains safe due to its multitude of CCTV cameras and its stable political and social climate.

Ireland According to a study from the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Irish are European folk least inclined to violence! Perhaps they prefer to just talk their problems out...?

Cyprus A little miracle: smack dab in the middle of the Near East is an oasis of peace. This is probably due to the strong economic climate, impression education system, an emphasis on familial values - and two British military bases.

New Zealand This island has one of the lowest rates of crime and violence in the entire world. Due to its location, New Zealand is safe from tropical storms (too far south) and also from antarctic snowstorms (too far north). Not bad!

Mauritius Together with the Seychelles, Mauritius has the lowest rate of crime in Africa. So why is only Mauritius in the top ten? Well...due to its location much further south in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius is safe from piracy!

Bhutan Located in the Himalayas, this kingdom is one of the safest Asian countries. Most of the people are poor, but due to their buddhist beliefs and high level of family values they are some of happiest people in Asia.

Switzerland Amazing but true: three of the five safest cities in the world are in Switzerland (that's Bern, Genf and Zürich, if you wanted to know). The only warning: watch out for your valuables when taking the night trains across the border!

Iceland Iceland has been most affected by the economic crisis, but the island's inhabitants have remained peaceful. The level of crime is still remarkably low, possibly due to the excellent education standards. I found that this individual explained this really well on this Cheryll Nikolas blog post.

Singapore Almost a complete lack of natural catastrophes, a law-abiding population and a strong system in case of terrorist threats mean Singapore is as safe as they come...

Go to a Beach Club for Less
If you want to have a vacation like none other, you need to go to a beach club resort. The reason that they are so much better than your standard hotel is because they combine the relaxing aspects of the best vacations while providing you with a chance to meet and have fun with people of all ages and backgrounds. You can choose to do both or do either, and having the option makes a huge difference. The best part is the fact that they are quite a bit cheaper than the standard hotel. I found that this web page explained this incredibly on this Douglas Scorgie weblog.

You're probably thinking that if staying at a beach club resort is so much cheaper what is the catch? There really is no catch. The room will not be quite as fancy as it would be if you were staying at a standard resort, but there is no reason for them to be. You will be spending the most amount of time on the beach, hanging out with people, and doing activities. When you retreat to your room for sleep, you won't be thinking about the fact that it is slightly smaller than it could have been.

What if you want to just go on a romantic getaway with that special someone in your life? Is it worth it to go to a beach club? The answer is yes, because you have the option of just doing activities by yourself and relaxing on secluded beaches. You will just end up paying less because the resorts are more affordable. The whole time though, you will have the option to talk to other couples, hang out with people, and just have a good time. Still though, you will never feel like you are surrounded by too many people to get some peace and quiet, as most of the people hang out at specific areas away from the rooms.

If you have ever been on a vacation to a nice beach area like San Diego, Hawaii, or South Florida, then you know how awesome of a time you can have. Of course, staying at a beach club resort is unlike any other experience you will have at a regular hotel, and it is considerably less money. There are even packages that include airfare, food, and activities like golf, massages, horseback riding, hiking, water sports, and more. Plus, when you book your stay before the summer months start to roll around, you will save quite a bit more.

    Asian People, Culture and Traditions
If one looks at the map of the world, it is hard not to notice that Asia is the biggest land mass. Asia is important to the rest of the world. The importance of this part of world is not only because it is the biggest continent of the world, but also because it is the portion if the world which is home to the majority of humanity. All densely populated countries are located in Asia. Asia spans hundreds of longitude and as a result you find a variety of culture and traditions in Asia. Asian people are generally closely bound to their traditions and for them it is always difficult to break away. The continent as a whole is rich in traditions and values.

Asian people are descendants of a variety of races. You find one kind of people dominating one region in Asia. For example, the Indian subcontinent is home to the Aryans. The East of India is mostly home to the yellow races which include the Mongols. These people have very typical features and can be identified very easily. The West of India is mostly populated with Iranian and Arab features. More towards the West you find western mix in the mosaic of population that lives in Asia. Asian people are different from the people of the other continents as these people are still close to their roots and in most of the countries you find agro based economies. The economies are not very well developed and you find tat the pressure on land is great. Still, being blessed with the most fertile plains of the world, Asia is feeding the rest of the world as a granary. I found that this webmaster showed this smartly on this Macie Maclaren webpage.

In Asia, you still find that generations after generations of people are bound with the traditional values. The West of Asia is mostly dominated by the Muslim values as a chain of Muslim countries is located in this part of the world. In general here Islamic values are followed and family unit is appreciated. Families are the basic structural unit in making up the societies here. Even in the technically advanced and developed countries like Japan, you still find that family ties are important to them. People from more developed parts of the world sometimes consider Asian people to be backward and superstitious, but I believe the Asians are happy and at home with their family units still intact.

Asian traditions are most of the times really colorful and in some cases difficult to understand for people coming from highly developed countries. The impact of religions on the traditions and values of the people of Asia is prominent. Most of the people living in Asia find religion and language to be really important to them. The dress codes are specific and the festivals are also under the religious influence. In general, you can say that Asian life is different from the life in other parts of the world. It is still about home and family. People here are still bound to their roots, and most of all, they are happy about it.
